THE 8-BIT ADVENTURE ALBUM

Posted by Marcos on January 31, 2010

Want some crazy-hot original chiptune music? I loved it, and I highly reccommend it to any chiptune lovers out there. The album is basically a soundtrack to a non-existent game. The music definitely would cause me to pick this game up if it was a real game, but I can settle for just a great album. Enjoy this album!

Track 16 – Ain’t 2 Ruffie for Me (Mountain Ruff Boss)

Track 21 – Glactical Warfare (Airship Chase Boss)

RooTube +

Posted by Marcos on January 29, 2010

I don’t think I ever made this public and I’m sure those who do read probably already know that I have a YouTube account I plan on using further down the lines. I don’t have anything uploaded and the only thing you can view are videos I favorited.

Another little jewel I have is a Twitter account, which I think people should start following instead of my old VGTO! Reviews twitter account (I only use it to Retweet Rhythmroo’s posts).

I know that the twitter updates are on the right side bar, but it’s just best to jump on the twitter track and see what I post without having to traverse to this site all the time to check on things. It makes things easier and convenient for you. All my posts are tweeted automatically and I usually throw out random tweets that you might find interesting. You never know.

Sites: Twitter, YouTube.

Alpha Prime Soundtrack

Posted by Marcos on January 26, 2010

Today we have the soundtrack of a first person shooter game that I know nothing about. All I know is that the soundtrack was a pretty decent listen. You might like it more than I do, so download it and check it out.

Calm Wind Project

Posted by Marcos on January 24, 2010

I forgot how I came across this website and finding an orchestrated version of the music for the Golden Sun series. I think of the project as the Golden Sun OST +. You get most of the memorable tracks at a better quality.

I may not have been a fan of some of the town themes and cave themes, actually I really loathed them, but the highlights are the battle themes, lighthouses,  and main theme. There are other tracks here and there that came out great, but I was always a bit iffy on the rest.

Track 22 – Battle upon the decks

Track 40 – Bonus TATAKAU!!! Temu

ThePlasmas – Beware The Invasion

Posted by Marcos on January 23, 2010

ThePlasmas are at it again with his rocking arrangements. I’ve lost count on how many albums he has contributed of solely game arrangements, but I know that it could be found on his myspace. The blog is listed below to download this and you can check his myspace for his other arranged albums.

The album is pretty diverse too, some games that received ThePlasmas treatment are Batman (NES), Super Mario RPG, Kirby Super Star, Starcraft, Ice Climbers, Lufia II, and even one from Touhou (Touhou 6: Embodiment Of Scarlet).

One arrangement I giggled like a school girl over was track 21 on disc 1, “Brutal Soccer Battlefield”, which was from the game Nintendo World Cup. I loved that game when I was younger, and seeing this on the album just brought back great memories of kicking a soccer ball into the next dimension. For those who played it, you know how crazy it was.

I really liked this album and recommend it fiercely. Did I mention it’s over 2 hours long of music? Zing.

Disk 1

Track 8 – One Night In Transylvania (Castlevania Series)

Track 21 – Brutal Soccer Battlefield (Nintendo World Cup)

Disk 2

Track 9 – Nuclear Launch Detected (Starcraft)

Track 23 – UN Owen Was Her (Touhou 6: Embodiment Of Scarlet)
