Looking past this horrible resize job, we are looking at a soundtrack that is mediocre at most. This version doesn’t include all the tracks from the game, but I hardly doubt that their inclusion would have made this soundtrack any better. But wait, I’m here to write something positive. There were some tracks I did like, and those were track 4 “Kou Leifoh” and track 6 “Mugetsu”. Take a listen to the latter, which was my favorite from the pair.
The Bouncer – Mugetsu
The game itself was pretty fun, your casual beat ‘em up game from Squaresoft. Very short, can be beaten in a day’s time, but there was replay value and a nifty verses mode that tagged along for the ride. The versus mode was awesome, until some jerk kept choosing to play as Dauragon C. Mikado’s Awaken form. It’s been a while since playing it, but I just remember that character being a pain to fight with in a 4-way versus. Probably just me.
Why am I bring up a game that’s nearly 10 years old? I picked up the soundtrack recently thinking that there was a lot of good tracks on the soundtrack. Then it hit me like a lighting bolt…I didn’t like it that much really. By the time I realized this, I was the proud owner of The Bouncer Original Video Game Soundtrack. Here’s the positive the album has proven to me: It makes great background music on a low volume. I think its ambient nature in my room made me enjoy it a lot more, so I’m actually recommending this soundtrack to anyone who needs background music. Who knows, you might like it on its own and disagree with everything I have to say. They are opinions after all. Here’s the link below to pick it up if you want it.
Aaaaaaand after a long period of no posting, I am back. I disappeared because of taking ill and my finals. Now that those have now passed and my christmas shopping officially done tomorrow, I have more time for posting. Yay. Before I get back to more game music related posts, there are two soundtracks from the same anime I want to cover. They both struck me as odd, surprising, and amazing! Very opinionated statements to the left, but the soundtracks caught me both off guard with its cover. Goes to show you, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”.
One last thing. Does anyone like Free Jazz?
If you do: Destroyer Of Brains- Song For Charles Rocket
I’ll write more about this little treasure later.
