FTFX X IKARI – Perfect Distant Dream

I deliver to you today a collaboration of two chiptune artist, AKIRA and FTFX, that I discovered the other day. I never heard of any of these artists, but that’s usually how I discover an album…coming across them by chance. I discovered AKIRA on my friend’s list on the ol’ VGTO! Reviews myspace, which then led me to the discovery of FTFX. They are both awesome and I give them my thumbs up for having their albums up on here.

Not going to go in any chronological order with what albums to post (there’s a good amount to cover), so here I present you Perfect Distant Dream, a collaboration between both chiptunists. The album is split in half, the first half AKIRA and the second half FTFX, and contains some tracks transferred from it’s original/remixed state to chiptune. Both chiptune arrangements are done by FTFX, and they sound pretty spot on.

The first chiptune arrangement was Phantom Ensemble, which if you play, or listened, to the TOUHOU games/music you know where this comes from. I don’t remember which TOUHOU game it came from, but you can tell me if you find out in the comments.

The second arrangement is that Caramelldansen dance that took the interweb, and the YOUTUBE, by storm, with its adorable renditions of a bunch characters/game icons/ect. dancing. Very awesome and worthy for a spot on any music player.

Next time we’ll be looking at…I don’t know really, see ya then.
